Sutivan is an extremely beautiful small town, marked by history with Mediterranean atmosphere and extremely attractive beaches with many summerhouses, being situated on both sides of the place. It is situated on the northwestern part of the island, facing Split, wherefrom it is just 13 km apart. Sutivan is a place in which we still nourish the spirit of the ancient Dalmatia. So, the summerhouse of Kavanjin, built from 1690 till 1705, is still in good condition and it gives a nice picture of the architecture of past times. The house – fortification of Jakov Natalis (1505) has in its foundations the wooden logs, just like the buildings in Venic Sutivan is today a place of modern type with strong influence of the historical spirit. In the winter period Sutivan has 750 citizens, while in summer that number is enlarged to a few thousands thanks to weekend- and other tourists. Sutivan has a very developed sport life: mini - soccer club, bowling club, sport-fishing club, wind-surf club, climbing club, which by many participations on the local and state level give additional value to the life quality of Sutivan. Within the summer months there is a sport manifestation: “Sutivansko lito” offering daily exhibitions, concerts of all kinds of music and various sport tournaments. “Vanka Regule” is a tournament of climbing on the artificial rock having the international character, which gathers many enthusiasts in this sport.
