Srima

Croatia / Sibenik-Knin / Srima

Srima is a small picturesque tourist town merged with the town of Vodice due to the increasing number of summerhouses. The town was growing in the Middle Ages but inhabitants had to flee from Turk attacks and settle at the nearby island of Prvić where they founded the town of Šepurine. When at the end of the 17th century the danger of Turk attacks ceased, the people returned to Srima. In the last twenty years there was a sudden upspringing of tourism, due to construction of first-rate accommodations in family houses, summerhouses and numerous camps. Srima with its pebbly beaches is particularly alluring to those who want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a typical Dalmatian small town.
